Packing List & Restricted Items

You may bring up to 2 bags of belongings with you to treatment. We have listed required, recommended, restricted and prohibited items on this page. Please reach out to our Intake Department (651-242-5540) with any questions.
REQUIRED
- Valid picture ID
- Copy of medical insurance card, if applicable
- 30-day supply of all prescription medication—prescription medication must be in original bottles
- Any necessary over the counter (OTC) medications in unopened, sealed container
- Discharge paperwork if transferring from a hospital or detox facility
- If you are bringing a car to the facility, you are required to provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. (We recommend waiting until you have entered medium intensity treatment.)
Recommended
- Clothing –up to 2 suitcases / bags or 13 gallon trash bags
- Shoes
- Personal hygiene products
- Beauty products
- Pillows
- Blankets and other bedding items are issued by the program, but you may also bring your own in 1 bag (not included in the 2-bag maximum for belongings)
- Pictures, books and crafts
- Radio, music players or mobile game systems (with no internet connection needed)
- Snacks (non-perishable only)
- Cultural items (sage, etc.)
prohibited
- Any items with alcohol in the first 3 ingredients (exceptions: shampoo, conditioner, gel, mousse, lotion, hairspray, sunscreen, powder or stick deodorant)
- Hand sanitizer (with alcohol)
- Nail polish remover and nail glue, super glue, hot glue gun, hair glue, eyelash glue (you can check these items out at the RA desk)
- Acrylic nail sets/products
- Perm/relaxer and hair dye
- Computers, iPad, tablets and kindles
- Smart watches or exercise tracking watches, including Apple Watches, Samsung, Fitbit, Garmin etc.
- Any devices that can connect to Wi-Fi / internet or are able to make calls or texts or connect to social media
- Aerosol cans (includes sunscreen, hairspray etc.)
- Replacement razor blades
- Rated NC-17 movies, Unrated movies, Pirated movies and CDs
- Candles/incense (exception: sage/smudge sticks)
- Air fresheners/odor neutralizers
- Oil diffuser
- Bath salts
- Any pectin or gelatin (fruit pectins such as Certo) in any form
- Bleach or cleaning supplies with alcohol or in aerosol containers
- Baking powder and any other white powder(s)
- Any open food or drinks brought in during admit
- Instant coffee, instant coffee bags, ground coffee, whole coffee beans
- Energy Drinks, any beverage or item labeled “energy” on the container
- Kombucha, Apple cider vinegar
- E-Cigarettes, pre-rolled cigarettes, rolling supplies (can be checked out at RA desk – tobacco must be unopened and sealed)
- Cigars (including Black & mild, Swishers, etc.) and chew
- Butane fuel
- Extension cords, outlet extenders, some power strips (power strips UL or ETL Listed are ok)
- CBD: Anything containing CBD ie: cigarettes, foods and beverages that contain CBD, and CBD oil
- Hemp products
- Any items (clothing, artwork, etc.) depicting or glorifying drug or alcohol use
- Any Gambling Items (i.e. lottery tickets, scratch offs, etc.)
- Walkie Talkies
- All Locks, and any items that have built in locks, and keys
- Scales
Other Restricted Items
The following items are restricted under separate Rewards in Positive Living Environment (RIPLE) rules.
- Medications (prescribed and OTC, including eye drops, supplements and meal replacement drinks/mixes)
- Cell phones, cell phone chargers or any items with internet connectivity
- Drugs, alcohol or paraphernalia
- Weapons, explosives and other property that can cause serious harm to you or others
- Food or drink (other than unflavored, non-carbonated water) in rooms
- Additional items not on list may be restricted at staff discretion
Medications
Some medications, such as opioids, cannot be brought into treatment. Please review the list below to see if any of your prescribed medications are on this list.
